With an educational background in the social sciences, I've always had a fascination with how complex data can be structured to tell a digestable and interesting story. All of my design work starts from the perspective of the potential audience. How will they perceive what I've built and will they understand the message?

A prime example of this is a recent project I built from scratch, The Civic Atlas. This project required taking vast amounts of complex, data-rich information and translating it into an intuitive exploration of political science data on an interactive globe. I understand how to map user journeys through dense information, ensuring the final experience is both engaging and highly accessible.

While my primary interactive development environment has been Webflow — where I architect complex, custom CMS structures and logic from the ground up — the core principles of digital storytelling remain the same.

I regularly build bespoke data visualizations by hand using Adobe Illustrator and the Affinity Suite (Designer/Publisher). Because I am accustomed to building data-rich experiences from absolute scratch, adapting to and mastering specialized visualization platforms like Ceros and Flourish will be a rapid, seamless transition for me. I am equipped to no only use these tools, but to also understand the coded products they produce.  

EY values familiarity with AI-enabled creative tools, and this is a core pillar of my workflow. I actively use AI to accelerate my digital production—particularly in writing and debugging custom code, automating the formatting of large datasets, and researching tools and best practices.

By incorporating AI into the heavy lifting of development and ideation, I am able to scale my creative output, maintain strict design standards, and focus my energy on the finer details of UX and interactive storytelling. The best aspect of the AI revolution on my workflow is the feeling that there is nothing I'm afraid to try. While I recognize the tools aren't perfect, they are just that - tools - meaning their utility comes from my ability to leverage their use cases.  

Operating my own digital design business requires the autonomy, stakeholder management, and service-minded collaboration EY is looking for.

I've got 3+ years experience as a web developer and over 2 as a freelancer. I am entirely self-directed: I manage multiple project deadlines simultaneously, communicate complex UX decisions clearly to clients, and translate strict business objectives into user-centered designs. I am highly comfortable troubleshooting, leading concept sessions, and ensuring that every piece of digital content aligns perfectly with overarching brand standards.

A couple recent projects I'm proud of include The Civic Atlas, an interactive globe displaying democracy and freedom indices and the website for Tiny Town, a band who let me experiment with their funky brand to include some interesting micro-video interactions.
