The resurgence of nationalism in the populist far-right across the West has led many on the left and center-left (and even center-right) to wonder how they can stem this seemingly popular tide. If left unchecked, the populist tactics can sweep up the nation and lead to the elections of dangerous politicians like Donald Trump or Jair Bolsonaro.

The Republican Party: a parliamentary party

Following parliamentary realignment, the Republican party lost members in multiple direction. But, they were able to maintain some of their loyal following and remain by far the second largest party in both chambers, challenging Democratic by only a handful of seats. However, the challenges faced by the GOP from it's former members may prove to be more difficult in the long run than the Democrat's situation.

Following parliamentary realignment, the Democratic party saw siginificant defections on both flanks of the party. However, they were able to maintain a the highest number of seats in both the House and Senate. And with the election of their candidate Joe Biden for president, the party is assured the first chance at forming the first parliamentary government in American history, presumably with Nancy Pelosi at the helm.

Liberal derangement syndrome

Two startling controversies that showed the liberal excesses and utter corruption of the Biden administration. In the first story, the Biden administration’s new climate plan would eliminate 90% of beef from the American market!

What if America was a parliamentary democracy? American politics is dominated by its federal system, dividing the country into 50 separate quasi-states. These divisions, in turn, include smaller bodies: counties, cities, townships, districts, municipalities, and boroughs, each with their own governmental structures. At the top sit three separate, but equal, branches: the legislative, executive, and judicial branches.
